Here is my reading running record level for the end of the year. I am reading at 11.5-12.5 yrs. At the beginning of the year, I was at 11-12 years. I am only 11 years 9 months old so I am doing great.

P.A.T maths

this term we did a end of year P.A.T test maths or reading. I love maths it is my favourite thing to do in school. I think I could of done better but it's to late can't what for next year. I got 16 and my stanine is 4. I got 5 more in my score.

Kidneys!!!

 Last week we went to the Life Education Trust truck to learn about the body and the organs and systems inside it which keep us alive and healthy. This week we have been learning about the digestive system and we got to cut open a circulatory system (heart) or excretory system (kidney) .

We did the kidney. It was disgusting,.I wrote a poem about the kidney. I hope you enjoy it!!!😃😃

This week we have been learning how to describe places better by using our five senses. We had to write using at least 3 senses. I hope you enjoy my little story about this photo. Abandoned Hospital

The wooden door creaks open. The smell of dead bodies makes me shiver. Blood drips from the ceiling onto my head. The floor is spiky and hard beneath my bare feet. My legs trip over as I run into spider webs that get caught in my eyes. I yell, "Helpppp! " There is a dead body next to me on the floor. The door slam shut behind me ,the wind blows me back and the walls start closing in on me.

Cross Country

This week we had cross country. I really don't like it because I can't ran very fast. But they have cupcakes , cakes and drinks to buy and you can see your family. There were 300 people there.  When the year six kids lined up I ran with everything I had in me but I was too slow. I ran so hard my T-shirt came right off .I came last with my friends Shannon and Jack. We were sad but some cake made us happy up!  Here is a photo of me before the race. 

Science Fair

We are having a science fair. My group are doing a bottle rocket experiment.  This is where we make a rocket out of bottles and some other materials.  In my group are Rico, Luke, Te Ara Nui & me. The way the bottle rocket works is we put baking soda and vinegar inside the rocket and then it should blast off like a real rocket but smaller, a lot smaller. When we have the science fair I will let you know what happens but here is a picture of my reading group doing an experiment.

Spelling term 2 2017

This week my class got a spelling test to see if we went up or down. I was frightened to see if I went up or down. My hands were shaking like wild tigers jumping around but I stayed at my level 6.7.  I was very happy and proud. Even my mum was proud of me. Some of my friends moved up. I wish I did better though.

The thing that I think I did well is getting a lot of my words right.

Here is my basic facts progress for this year. In Term 1 I was working on Stage 6 and I got a score of 34/60. In Term 2, my basic facts score for Stage 6 was 50/60. I need to pratice division.

Fun Friday

Today we are getting ready for Fun Friday. It's when all of the Seniors are setting up activities for the Juniors such as Nerf Guns, Ring Toss, Back Your Butt Up, Mission Impossible and much much more. I'm in ring toss. It's when you throw a ring and try to land it on a stick or something like a stick. My group is Lukas, Nero, Shannon, Jack, Enzo, Mosese and Reed. Here is part of my group.

Onesie Day

 Today we had an animal onesie day because we are fundraising for the year 1 and year 2 zoo trip. Our group was dressed up like the humans. Humans are are vertebrate animals and they are mammals.

“Yipee!”  I yelled as I dashed out of my bed and raced to my mother's room. Blink, blink went her eyes as we rushed to the car. My mum jumped into the car and we drove to Jack’s house. He has one big house as big as godzilla. It’s gigantic! I zoomed right into Jack’s house. He showed me around the house and his Lego.His pile of Lego was bigger than Mount Ruapehu I wish I had as much as him. When I was done with his lego I had a look at his ocean of toys.

Brrmmm.The car was warming up, ready to go to rugby. I dashed as fast as  flash straight into the car. Jack was trying to catch up but he was a slow sloth. When he got in the car we drove like lighting to the rugby game after the rugby game we had some food.

Have you ever been so exhausted you thought you would die? The rugby game was tough.  Jack’s mum came to pick as up. She is sweet honey.

When we got back to Jack’s home we had a nerf war. I had a sword and a shield and Jack had a bow. “321 begin!!!” I shouted. I sped to Jack’s side and tried to slice him in half. He shot 7 arrows at me. I blocked 4 like a ninja fighting an assassin. The last 3 I sliced in half like I was a knight. I rushed up and uppercut him which meant I beat him. That was a great day.

Writing using similes and metaphors.

We have been learning how to use similes and metaphors to get a better score for language in our writing. Here is my 'moment in time' recount.

“Good morning, Happy birthday!” we all shouted as we marched into my little brother’s room and pulled him out of his cot and took him to the living room. Ding dong!  I ran like lightning and opened the door. My little brother crawled to the door. There were so many people that came for my brother’s birthday. It was too many people for our home. My mum shouted to my dad, “Can you pass the toys?”  but he was a slow sloth. Then we set up the bouncy castle. Bounce, bounce bounce! I loved it.  

This week we have been learning our multiplication division and fractions facts on a piece of paper we did it 4 days a week Here are my scores for the week Monday 27, Tuesday 33, Wednesday 33, Thursday 41.  

A new digital learning tool

We had to create a storyboard based on Anzac Day and our friend Cyprus. I chose to create most of my images using photos from the internet, but creating the cartoon images was fun too.

For art we had to get a digital photo, paste it onto a Google drawing and then cut it in half. Then we had to draw in the missing half of the face to match the photo. I think I did a good job on the face. I would like to do the hair better next time. Ka kite ano.
