time test term 2 2016

                     Hi.
  My class has just had a time test to see how good we are at time. I got 64%. I was really good at quarter past and quarter to times but I need to do more work on reading a calendar.

This is an activity we did when we were getting organised to run an activity for our Fun Lunchtime Fundraising day.

Something I think we did well  is thinking up an idea that lots of kids would enjoy. In our activity, kids had to see who could shoot a Nerf gun the longest distance and we were so busy that we didn't even have time to blink!

Next time I think we should make sure we all have the same equipment because some kids wanted to fight over the Nerf Guns because they were not all the same.

Here is a photo of all our Nerf guns. Mrs B made us put them in the office for a while after lunchtime was over so that our team could concentrate on getting cleaned up.      

Making a recount skeleton.

KIa ora After we made our writing skeleton on the planning sheet, we had to highlight all the notes and then copy and paste them below in a list one after the other. So, our story skeleton looks like it can stand up now but it is still just bones. Our teacher says writers call this an outline. We read our outlines out loud to each other and they sound good.Here is mine below.

Easter

Yipee it’s chocolate eggs time

At Easter weekend

My family and i

At home

We watch a movie

In the morning i had breakfast pancake

They were soft and tasty

Next we unwrapped some easter eggs

They were as brown as dirt

At the end of the day-go to bed

I felt  happy

Today we had to do a test at the end of our time unit. I got a score of 88%. The only question I got wrong was the one about some of the clock. I thought the question said, “5:30” but it said ”5:25"

next time I think I could improve by using more colour.

Dear Piper’s Lodge

I am writing to thank you very much for looking after us so well during our stay last week.  

At your lodge really enjoyed the whole week because your beds were comfy, your bathrooms were clean and fresh and your meals were delicious. My favourite meal was the cream donut.

I hope I can come and stay at Piper’s Lodge again, one day.

I really enjoyed the whole week and skiing was amazing. My favourite part was the rock climbing.
